essence cosmetics shape & shadows eye contouring palette

As you know I recently worked with essence cosmetics as part of their latest range, the bloggers beauty secrets trend edition, to design my own nail polish and makeup palette. My palette, the essence cosmetics shape & shadows eye contouring palette, was the final outcome!

The shape & shadows eye contouring palette is designed to be multifunctional, so that it can be used as both an eye shadow and eyebrow palette. During the design process myself, the other bloggers involved in the project and the essence cosmetics team considered the best shades for the palette and what would be needed.

We looked at the golden age of Hollywood, influential, beautiful women throughout history and how they used make up to deceive, enhance, shape, define and contour. This can be seen in the shade names – Hazel Grace (Grace Kelly), Audrey Highbrow (Audrey Hepburn), Brigitte Brown (Brigitte Bardot), Marilyn Metallic (Marilyn Monroe) and Highlighter Billie Vanilli (Billie Holiday).

Here are the swatches of the shades in the essence cosmetics shape & shadows eye contouring palette, as you can see they are highly pigmented!

I have found the shadows to have a lovely texture and provide a good coverage despite the low-end price tag. With the primer they last all day, have no fall off and wear well. I also love the large mirror in the palette, it is so handy!

The outcome of the essence cosmetics shape & shadows eye contouring palette are 3 matte shades which can be used as a matte eyeshadow on your lids but can double up as eyebrow shadows. There are two shimmer/highlighter shades. They work well as highlighters on the cheek bone and under the eyebrow or to add a little sparkle to the eyes.

The final pan in the palette took the most work, we were looking for a primer and a fixing wax in one. Something that kept your make up in place as a primer but also didn’t let your long eyebrow hairs go astray! I was so happy to find something that worked so well and it really ties the essence cosmetics shape & shadows eye contouring palette together. When playing with the palette during the final stages of creation one of the other bloggers in the team mixed the prime and fix wax together with the Brigitte Brown to use as an eyeliner and this also works incredibly well!
