Hotel Chocolat & Roast + Conch #blogchocolat

A perfect blogger event at Hotel Chocolat, 10 lovely Leeds bloggers, a master chocolatier instructed chocolate tasting followed by an amazing dinner upstairs at Roast + Conch. Dan was our chocolate expert & resident Chocolatier who helped us discover about the life of a cocoa bean & how it is grown as well as trying some of their complex chocolates. It was really interesting to learn about and try to distinguish different elements that give a chocolate it’s taste. You can see the different tones you can identify in chocolate through their tasting tree below.

After our chocolate tasting we went upstairs to the Roast + Conch. My sister went there for her birthday and I had heard such good things about it so I was excited to try what they had to offer. A few of us at the table were vegetarian but that was not too much of an issue as there is a bit of a selection for us non meat eaters. The presentation of the food is incredible and the food was beautiful.

Roast pear, nib infused soft goat’s cheese, cacao balsamic.

Mac and cheese in cacao nib pastry, celeriac puree, leeks, mushrooms.

My meal was absolutely gorgeous, the taste, presentation and complimenting ingredients as you can see from my pictures. It is one of the nicest places I have eaten at and I now need an excuse or to keep an eye out on Groupon for a reason to go back! We finished off the evening with some chocolates and some delicious chocolate cocktails which were amazing but I’m sure very bad for you. A big thank you to all the lovely bloggers at the event and to Hotel Chocolat and Roast + Conch for a fantastic time!

Have you ever eaten at Hotel Chocolat & Roast + Conch?
