Lived in eye makeup is a massive beauty trend this AW14. Taking inspiration from Margot Tenenbaum this heavily makeup-ed eye is teamed with straight hair. The smudged, lived in kohl lined eye gives a careless and rebelious ‘cool girl’ grunge. This ‘morning after’ eyes adds a touch of school girl attitude that is both dark and beautiful.
Skin for this look is flawless duey, youthful and fresh. Use a dark blush in the hollows of your cheek to achieve a youthful and natural flush. For todays blush I used the Playboy Blushing Bunny Shimmer Bronzing Powder which I wrote about yesterday here. Keep lips very simple, as with everything in this look other than the eyes. Either natural, or slightly pink with a slight balm to give a nourished and moisturised healthy lip colour.
For the eye make up I have used NARS COSMETICS Duo Eyeshadow in shade Cordura teamed with the NARS COSMETICS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in shade Via Appia. A beautiful, long lasting lived in eye makeup team that contrasts blue eyes with their bronze tones to make them really pop and stand out.
The Via Appia eyeliner is a gorgeous dark bronze liner with specks of shimmer. It is quite soft but you only have a few seconds to smudge and blend before it sets in place for the day. Using this shade instead of black kohl gives a softer and less gothic look. The pencil has a mini sharpener hidden in the base so when you wind on the liner you can still keep it sharp and precise.
