Mac dupe? W7 Arabian night palette

I love a good bargain beauty find and have seen so many comparisons lately between the W7 Arabian night palette and the MAC ‘Amber Times’ Nine shadows. With results coming out in favour of the W7 Arabian Night being the stronger of the two palettes I knew I had to pick up this MAC dupe. The shades are beautiful and the perfect combination for me. With the W7 palette a 10th of the cost of the MAC palette, I would rather have a higher quality palette than a particular brand.

W7 Cosmetics are always a hit or miss brand for me. Sometimes their beauty items are fantastic, and other times they are awful and simply don’t work. They are a cheap brand though and can definitely be worth the risk.

Starting with cost, I purchased my Mac dupe W7 palette from eBay for £2.90 including delivery. The MAC ‘Amber Times’ Nine Shadows was originally £30, now reduced to £25. Looking at the two palettes there can be little argument that W7 have copied MAC in every way. The packaging, size and shades in this compact match up perfectly.

The packaging of the W7 Arabian night palette is good quality and is in no way cheap or nasty. It is a lovely small size with strong, clean sturdy casing. The palette pans are well secure and the overall look holds up against higher end brands.

W7 have four different ‘Naughty Nine’ palettes; Hard Day’s Nights (purple tones), Bangkok Nights (cool blue tones), Mid Summers Night (pink, burgundy tones) and my purchase, Arabian Nights, with beautiful brown and nude gold neutrals.

The shades in the W7 Arabian night palette are very pretty, the warm tones are perfect for fall. I have used the palette for my everyday makeup and for evenings out with the shadows lasting well throughout the entire day.

The W7 Arabian night palette is a blatant rip off of MAC and they look virtually the same. Whilst MAC suffered complaints of weak pigmentation within the MAC ‘Amber Times’ Nine shadows the same cannot be said of the MAC dupe. Every shade is well pigmented and blends easily. There is a little fall off on application but no issue with fade or longevity.

Which would you choose, the £2.90 MAC dupe W7 Arabian night palette or the £25 MAC ‘Amber Times’ Nine shadows?
