Oriflame reviews – The One Beauty Blogger Event

I was recently invited to The One Beauty Blogger Event where we were shown the new long lasting wear range from Oriflame. If you want to read about any other blogger events I have written about you can find them here. The Oriflame range is backed by celebrity make up artist Gary Cockerill who ran us through some different make up techniques and looks that you can achieve with the Oriflame products.

We were given a goody bag to try out some of the items from The One Range. In the bag I had Lash Resistance Mascara, Colour Unlimited Lipstick Shade Violet Extreme, Eye Liner Stylo, Long Wear Nail Varnish Shade Night Orchid, Colour Impact Cream Eye Shadow Shade Golden Brown.

Oriflame reviews – Golden Brown Cream Eye Shadow

I’m not often a fan but I love the Oriflame Cream Eye Shadow in shade Golden Brown. As Gary Cockerill showed us in his demonstration to prevent the eye shadow feeling sticky and creasing, as many cream eye shadows do, I first applied a nude layer of powder shadow from my Naked 3 palette. With this as a base the Cream Eye Shadow applied really well and dries rather than staying smudgy. The shade Golden Brown is a really beautiful deep brown with a gold shimmer too it. I started with a light layer of Cream Shadow all over then built up darker tones towards the outer edge. The powder underneath gives it a great staying power and texture.

Oriflame reviews – Lipstick Violet Extreme and Nail Varnish Night Orchid

My favourite items are the radiant orchid tones shown in the Lipstick Shade Violet Extreme and Long Wear Nail Varnish Shade Night Orchid. They are perfect for summer, so fresh and brighten a complexion. When applying the lipstick I again used one of Gary Cockerill’s tips of applying a layer, blotting on kitchen roll and repeating. You can do this many times and it builds up to colour to help it to last. The Lipstick is a very matte lipstick, it feels great on the lips, not drying in any way and has a mild scent to it. I’m impressed with both the staying power of the Violet Extreme and Night Orchid.
