Designer inspired autumn / winter trends 2013 – Back to Square One

Autumns coming and its time to break away from last seasons strict monochrome prints, coming in are softer and brightly coloured checks. Here are my designer inspired autumn / winter trends 2013 showing affordable ways to bring checks, plaid, tartan, blanket weaves and laundry-bag squares through high street finds. Take the square route into winter.

Tartan, square patterns and plaid are a fantastic outfit feature but don’t over do it or it can become tacky. In my list I have begun with a Plaid Full Woven Skirt by American Apparel. This comes in 4 different colour variations and would be great worn as a high waisted skirt with a jumper and tights for the colder months. Second are these gorgeous checkerboard bow hair clips which can be found at Forever 21. These come as a pair and are lightweight alligator clips. Thirdly is ModCloth‘s gorgeous Curriculum of Cuteness Dress, the name highly suits the dress! This dress gives a back to school feel and is made from 100% cotton. This dress is extremely flattering with the red and navy print and pleated A-line skirt. Number 4 are the gorgeous Rosie Tartan Ankle Strap Perspex Mid Heel, a steal from Boohoo at only £20! This minimal use of plaid has a great effect on this sexy pair of heels. Louche Ronnie Check Coat from Joy rounds up my list. This coat has the elements of a classic with a contemporary stylish twist. With a large faux fur collar and fitted body to skim the waist this sweet 60s shape cout is incredibly flattering.
