Top tips for effortless September style

September is an awkward month when it comes to choosing the right clothing. It’s not quite Autumn yet, but still feels like Summer is well and truly over, leaving you with some questionable wardrobe choices. If you feel your style game is lacking as we switch between seasons, take a look at these helpful tips to get the ball rolling on your September wardrobe.

Prepare for the unexpected

The sun may be cracking the flags as you leave the house, but give it a couple of hours and a grey sky and torrential rain can have you wishing you didn’t leave your jacket at home. Try and always take a jacket if you’re out for the whole day – this could even be a fold up pac a mac with a stylish design that you can easily throw in your handbag. For weather that’s in between cold and warm, a women’s duster coat makes the perfect garment to throw on over your outfit for a stylish, laid-back look.

Knitwear is your best friend

For those particularly chilly mornings, there’s nothing better than a cosy piece of knitwear. Since we’re not quite in baltic weather conditions yet, however, look for jumpers in more lightweight materials to avoid you being too warm if the weather decides to brighten up throughout the day. A simple outfit of some jeans, a t-shirt and a chunky knit cardigan is a foolproof September look, giving you the freedom to alter your outfit depending on the weather.

Buy some beautiful boots

One of the best things about Autumn is being able to shop for the perfect pair of boots, and September is a good time to start keeping an eye out. Ankle boots are the most popular choice, as they’re versatile, stylish and easy to throw on before leaving the house. For night’s out, consider investing in some knee high boots for a chic Autumnal evening look! Depending on the style you go for, knee-high boots can also be great for work or make a cute and cosy daytime look.

Have fun with trends

The gloomy weather can be enough to get any of us down, so add a bit of fun to your wardrobe by experimenting with the latest trends. Big, colourful tasseled earrings are a huge trend at the moment, appearing in almost every high street store, and are the perfect way to brighten up a dull outfit.
