The Body Shop British Rose Collection Review

You may remember that a few months ago I wrote about the new launch from The Body ShopThe Body Shop British Rose Collection. The release was for The Body Shop’s 40th anniversary and I was so keen to try it out as the products used organic roses grown in Herefordshire.

Fortunately I was recently sent some press samples to try out and share with you from the beautiful Body Shop British Rose Collection!

Overall I love most of the products, with one very disappointing individual item. The toiletries have an incredible scent to them as the roses used were ‘high quality, hand-picked, air-dried and infused on-site into fresh mountain water to maintain the rose essence.’

I love The Body Shop for shower and body products, who doesn’t love a Body Shop Body Butter and this collection will not let you down.

The one product from the range that was very disappointing was the lip and cheek stain. I received a rather bright, fuchsia shade – Bright Peony 026. It was blotchy and hard to apply evenly, had a strange scent and chemical taste and ended up bleeding and smudging as you can see in the image below.

It just didn’t work as a stain and never dried, I tried it with and without a lip balm underneath but that didn’t change the results.  I tried it as a cheek tint but it left marks on my skin where I had originally put it, despite blending it out with my fingers quickly.

Other make up in The Body Shop British Rose Collection was lovely, for someone who never really wears pink eyeshadow I really loved the British Rose Eye & Cheek Palette.

The shades are very pretty, girly and delicate with an english rose beauty feel. The tones are muted and dusky, the palette over all feels very glamorous.

The shades are beautiful and have a creamy texture so they are easy to blend, however they aren’t the most pigmented ( as you can see in the image below). You do have to build it up for decent coverage.

The British Rose palette contains 6 shades of Eye Shadow as well as 2 Shades of Cheek Blush. A few shades are matt, a few have a subtle shimmer.

The nail polish I received was a beautiful sheer pink, perfect for a french manicure and just a little prettier than a clear coat. The polish is from The Body Shop colour crush nail colours and this is in shade 350 British Rose.
