essence liquid lipstick – review and swatches

essence liquid lipstick is the newest of their items to hit our shelves, their take on this latest and much-loved lipstick trend. I love how often we see new products from essence, they bring fun ideas and always seem to be pushing and breaking boundaries with great designs. Obviously these new liquid lipsticks have had some inspiration from the Dior fluid stick when it comes to packaging but the essence collection costs only £2.50 each, rather than £26.50.

01, colour party

The new range of essence liquid lipstick contains 6 shades, I have 4 to share with you today. Nothing too dramatic the shades vary from subtle nudes and baby pinks through to a gentle plum. The shades I have are 01, colour party, 03, almost real, 04, show off!, 06, make a statement.

03, almost real

The essence liquid lipstick is not a stain like other liquid lipsticks I have tried and would definitely not be classed as long-lasting. They are a super pigmented lip gloss range that give good colour coverage without being sticky. They fade well but don’t last the test of time against food or drink. Without eating or drinking I get about 3 hours wear and they also have a delicious vanilla scent. They have a large doe foot applicator for easy application in one swipe.

04, show off!

I am a big fan of this clean and sleek look from essence, some of the younger designs are a little off-putting but this is chic, simple and no fuss. I love that it is clear plastic so you can see the exact shade you are choosing and that the inner tube is lipstick shaped.

You’re totally right, these are deffo lipglosses. I love liquid lipsticks and wish these were more matte because they’re so cheap!

I’ve tried a few products from Essence and I think they were good considering the low price, especially their lip liners :) Love the look of the last shade ‘make a statement’ the best :) x

They are pretty great for a budget brand, I really like their lip liners but their nail polish and nail art selection is great :) Make a statement is a really nice everyday shade :)
