Jet2CityBreaks Cozy Christmas Blogger Event

Jet2CityBreaks Cozy Christmas Blogger Event 1

Attending blogging events is something I have really missed with the pandemic, but my first event back in nearly two years was such a blast! We celebrated the festive season and all of the exciting Jet2CityBreaksSki flights and winter sun destinations with an afternoon Christmas Blogger Event making festive cocktails, candle making, faux calligraphy and the chance to win a Jet2holiday!

Starting off the event, we were welcomed with coffee (much needed), mulled wine and mince pies – how wonderful it was to have a PR team who made sure there were vegan mince pies too?! It was just a small meet up and we were then split into two groups of 10. I was lucky to spend the day with a familiar face, one of my favourite bloggers Lucy, as well as making a new friend in Victoria (who has the most beautiful Instagram) throughout our afternoon crafting.

Candle making with Golden Hour Co

Christmas Blogger Event

Our first lovely workshop host at the Christmas blogger event was Christian, owner of Golden Hour Co, who took us through the joys of candle making. We spent a good few hours learning about the aromatherapy benefits of blending essential oils and testing out different combinations to find our perfect winter destination candle.

Christian had put together essential oil blends for different destinations as a guide – some instantly fell in love with a certain cities blend. I immediately thought I would love Amsterdam, a combination of Cedarwood, Orange and Ylang Ylang, but it wasn’t for me when it came around to smelling this blend. I was surprised with the scents I chose in the end – I think I need to take a little more time thinking about the scents I love and not my preconceptions!

In the end, I chose Orange as my top note, with Frankincense and Cinnamon as base notes. Smelling my candle reminded everyone of making the Advent Christingle candles at Sunday school, so naming my candle wasn’t too hard a decision!

Making a Mary Berry

Our next Christmas blogger event activity was cocktail making. Lucy and I made the non-alcoholic Mary Berry, a delicious cranberry, raspberry blend on ice.

Faux Calligraphy with Phylecia Sutherland

Christmas Blogger Event

Our final station at the Christmas Blogger Event was learning faux calligraphy with Phylecia Sutherland to make our own gift tags and baubles. I could have spent double the time here, the time just flew by! As anyone who knows me will tell you, I love calligraphy. It is a skill I would love to learn and improve on – after another couple of hundred hours of practising, I am sure I can improve!

Winning a Holiday with Jet2

As I mentioned above as well as festive fun and good company, you had the chance to win a holiday for 2 to either one of our winter sun destinations or Jet2CityBreaks. The winner was selected by Phlecia, who had the hard decision of choosing her favourite calligraphy bauble.

I couldn’t believe it when she picked her favourite top 3 and mine was in there, and even more stunned when she chose mine as her favourite! I have always loved art, crafting, stationery and typography but couldn’t believe I had won the competition and holiday against the other beautiful baubles!

All I need to do now after winning a holiday for 2 is to choose a destination from one of Jet2’s winter sun or Jet2CityBreaks destinations. Let me know if you have any suggestions for where we should choose, Jon and I cannot wait to explore somewhere new early next year! Check out some of our past travels here.
